The Board has voted, effective December 1, 2016, to no longer allow key lockboxes at the building for owners and residents, except for the real estate boxes at the front entrance. While we understand that a few owners or residents used the lockboxes to store a key in case of lockout or for their own convenience, there were some owners who are circumventing the requirement to greet arriving guests/tenants and to notify the onsite manager of new guests/tenants. This creates a security risk to residents. Unfortunately, the actions of a few preclude the privilege of those who used the lockboxes for legitimate reasons. To the Board, these concerns and the interest in having a uniform rule outweighed the benefit of having a place to store a key in case of lockout.
The key lockboxes at the front are reserved exclusively for realtors who have registered them at the front desk. After December 1, 2016, any other lockboxes found at the front or elsewhere around the building will be removed at the owner’s expense.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
